SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 20

Acknowledging the contributions, knowledge and expertise of West
Virginia's engineers.
Whereas, West Virginia's engineers use their technical
knowledge and skill in creative and innovative ways to fulfill the
needs of a modern society; and
Whereas, Engineers encourage our young math and science
students to practically utilize their knowledge; and
Whereas, In our every day lives, engineers are problemsolvers
who improve the quality of our lives; and
Whereas, The knowledge and skill of engineers are admired as
they meet the challenges for the future; and
Whereas, Engineering is the nation's second largest profession
and it is appropriate to increase awareness and appreciation of the
engineering profession; and
Whereas, The Governor has proclaimed the week of February 22,
1998, as "West Virginia Engineers Week"; therefore, be it
Resolved by the Senate:
That the Senate hereby recognizes the knowledge and expertise
of West Virginia's engineering professionals and their commitment
and dedication to our state as they meet the challenges for the
future; and, be it
Further Resolved, That since the Ggovernor of West Virginia has proclaimed the
week of February 22, 1998, as "West Virginia Engineers Week", it is
fitting that the Senate recognize their outstanding accomplishments
in our state; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Cclerk is hereby directed to forward
a copy of this resolution to the appropriate representatives of the
engineering profession of West Virginia.
